Uplands

This planning district in the north end of the city is bound by Richmond St. to the west, Fanshawe Park Road in the south, Adelaide St. in west and the northern city limits. It is part of the Stoney Creek Watershed with the Powell Drain feeding into Stoney Creek. This area is characterized by large single family homes with continued development in the northern portion of the district with a number of townhome developments occurring along the western area along Fanshawe Park Road. This area is also known as Stoneybrook Heights, Stoneybrook Uplands and Pineridge neighbourhoods. It also borders on the Masonville commercial district to the south. Community life centres around Jack Chambers Public School which was built in 1992. A new 8 classroom addition was added in 2006 in order to accommodate the growing population of the area. Many community programs are held in the school building on evening and weekends.
