Stoneybrook

Stoneybrook is a mainly residential area in London’s north-northeast. Located just east of the Masonville Commercial zone, it is bordered by Fanshawe Park Rd. to north, the Thames River in the south and Highbury Ave. to the east with Adelaide St. running up the middle of the district. The neighbourhood to the east of Adelaide St. is known as Northridge is comprised of mainly single family homes, and the area to the west of Adelaide is known as Stoneybrook. The district's southern boundary is the Thames River surrounded by the Kilally Meadows Environmentally Significant Area (ESA). The publicly-owned portion of the ESA (146 ha) stretches between Adelaide Street and Highbury Avenue, along the North Thames River and Meander Creek. The ESA contains walking trails that can be accessed from various points throughout the district. Schools located in this district include Stoneybrook Public School located west of Adelaide and east of Adelaide in the Northridge neighbourhood are A.B. Lucas Secondary School, Northridge Public School, St. Mark Catholic School and the recently closed (in 2010) Northdale Public School. The Stoney Creek Offleash dog park on Adelaide St. just north of Windermere Rd. is a popular gathering place. Northridge outdoor pool is located on Glenora Dr.
